- Reached INS San Jose center at 7:15AM.
- No parking was available.
- Drove back to the Monterey Road and parked on a close by street.
- Walked back to the INS building.
- Entered into the building at 7:25AM thru appointment line (guard just saw my I-485 approval notice).
- Collected my token number from the counter at 7:30AM.
- Waited for about an hour until 8:30AM to see my number on the display.
- Went to the counter and a desi Immigration officer (K Patel) wished me good morning.
- While I was handing her all the documents, she started chatting with me like how do I pronounce my last name (its bit uncommon), where I am from in India, etc. Very nice person.
- She fingerprinted me at two places.
- Also, I signed at two places
- She asked me to be seated until she calls my name (i guess they do the new IBIS check).
- Waited for about 10 minutes or so and she called my name.
- And she handed me the passport with I-551 stamp and explained me what it was and told me that a card will be mailed to me in couple of months.
- She confirmed my current address, for the plastic card I suppose.
- I said "Thank you very much" and was out of the building at 9:00AM with an "Adjusted Status":)

Good luck to you all who are still waiting. INs is doing its job, hopefully all of you will be out of this process soon.

Take care,
fabolous
