Got my reentry permit

Good news.Enjoy your new benefit as PR.Mine was mailed on Dec 7(Applied Oct 21,2005 after giving up my Aug 2006 expiring uncle RTD as a result of I-485's approval on Sep 15,2005).I expect to receive it next week.

When do you plan to travel? Are you going just with Re entry permit and GC?
I don't really understand how can we use re-entry permit with overseas Immigration Authorities, RTD is based on an International UN treaty, but Re-entry permit is an internal document for US Immigration authorities, how can it be accepted by other countries?

Any one can elaborate on it?

Why France doesn't recognize RTD which is document based on UN treaty while it accepts Reentry Permit which is an internal US document?For what purpose Reentry Permit has been made up whith visa pages?
