Hi;

I got married to US citizen about 2 months ago. Right now I am on H1B. I am confuse, because I am not sure where to file all the papers. I am in Michigan, and my question is should I send it to Detroit or Chicago? Do I send all forms together in one package? Also the medical form: Does it have to be send with all papers, or I can do it when I go for an interview? Any help would be appreciate. Thank you

Answering this question for the nth time...

1. You send all completed applications to the chicago lock box
2. You send all applications in one package
3. You send the medical (I-693) with the rest of the forms
4. You send the affidavit of support (I-864) with the rest of the forms
5. If you miss 3 and 4, you will definitely get an RFE which would slow down your case.
6. Check www.uscis.gov for updated fees for each application.

Hi
I'm a u.s citizen my girlfriend of two years lives in Denmark and is a Danish citizen.
Hypathedicly speaking,
If we spontaneously got married in vegas while she was on a standard visiter visa,
but wanted to stay in the u.s could we file papers for her to stay? what is the likelihood they would send her home ? Has it been done this way successfully? or is the k1 the best and only way for us. P.s anyway to expedite the k1? hear it could take 4 to 12 months
thank you. any help would be great!!

you can get married in vegas, and file only if it is spontaneously. If you are intending to do this you are not spontaneous so you should file for K-1 or you can go to vegas get married, she goes back to denmark and she goes the CP way.

Close encounters....its all about 'intent'.
As the above poster states, if your girlfriend is in the country NOW and you just spontaneously decide that you 'must' marry, then that is a viable option. You then will have to prove that you did indeed not plan to marry while she was here. If the interviewing officer is not convinced that this was the case then the result is that your then wife will be detained, deported and banned from the states. This HAS just happened to a British woman on another forum.

I wouldnt risk it for a biscuit.

Applying for an appropriate visa is the safest, most rest assured and legal way.
