EAD applied through my husband's 485 and 140 approval instead of transfering back to H4 visa? Our 485 is pending for one than one year now. Is EAD a valid status itself in U.S.?

EAD is not a status, but an adjustee (which you are) is. You are fine because of your pending I-485.
