I will not advise this. If during interview it is found letter is fake (you might get nervous or something may go wrong), you will have to kiss your US dreams goodbye.

This, although again not advisable, is a better option, since atleast the letter will be real. Try to get a letter from any colleague, relatve, friend, anybody, that says they will employ you. Even if the job will be in future (few days after your interview). All you need is an employment letter or an 'offer' of employment.

Meanwhile, it goes without saying, keep looking for a job for all you are worth. Even if the pay is less, hours are unreasonable or whatever, just get employed for the sake of your GC.

Interview

SRbose -

Can you please tell us when was your file transferred ? and when did u got your interview letter ?

This will help for people who are waiting for the intereview !!!

Sorry cant help ,
best of luck

1) Talk to a lawyer without wasting another second
2) Are you in a position to use AC21 (and can you find a job that is similar to what you applied your GC petition for this soon)?
3) Do you have friends/family/acquaintances that can help you find a job real quick just to get you through this hurdle on Jan 31?
4) Also talk to an attorney about postponing the interview so you can think of something else.

The best option will the last one to get your interview postponed for some time and try to find some job similar to the previous one.

Good luck.

Very sorry to hear this. No way you should think of faking a letter. Sometimes in the interview, the officer calls up the employer to get some clarifications and you will be totally sc....d then. Best way out will be get some genuine offer letter some how by that date from any of your friend's company or some consulting company.

Thanks so much for all of your Advice

Dear Friend, I am really feeling sorry for your plight. But something tells me that you will surely get through this testing phase of your life after January 31st. I will let you know if I run into something. Apart from providing your email address, it would also be helpful to you to publish your core credentials, so that others may know what you are good at, to see if there are openings available. In the meanwhile, try to get into some company -- some desi company may be -- with the similar job position. I will surely keep you in my prayers, friend. To everybody whom I have said such a thing have only greeted me privately about the tremendous joy after their success. And, for sure, you are going to be no exception. Dum spiro, spero. (As long as I breathe, so long will I hope.)(South Carolina State motto).

To all great members in this great Forum

Thank you so much for your kind reply. This forum is great and
will be great in near Future. I consider myselft great in all Microsoft technology incuding DotNet,ASP.Net,VB.Net,XML Family,SAS and C# working
since 1992 but it interviewer to decide how much I am good.

If anyone can help with an offer of a future job, please do. It is a very difficult situation and I feel for you srbose. Maybe if you are lucky somone can offer you a position so you can invoke AC21, and as a bargaining tactic, they are under no actual obligation to give you the job- the letter can be for a future job offer- as long as you intend to work for them- there is no other obligation. Maybe someone can help here.

srbose,

Please also tell where are you located. This way if there is anyone in the vicinity he/she can help you more by providing contacts of some local consulting companies.

Thanks everyone for great Help

I am in California near Los Angeles. How to find out Indian owned consulatancy IT companies in California. Is there any link?

Try talk to your company to keep you in roster for one more month...

and provide the letter and a pay-check. Then you pay them back after the interview, and find another job immediately.
Keep in mind that INS usually asks recent pay-check stubs too at interview, even tax forms, so, a letter along may not be enough.

Thank you all

Thank you Prince of America for providing info.

I used to work with Blue Cross California as an 1099 contractor, they outsourced their IT job to India after recent merger with Anthem Health Insurance.
