congratulations. just remember to bring everything to prove your relationship. I remember one girl posted that they did not bring W2s to the interview, so in addition to proving the relationship, they want proof of support / income. I am pretty much planning on bringing my ENTIRE application packet. Another poster also suggested having copies of everything already made for the IO.

Congratulations Nite :)

Yes, make sure you take originals and a set of copies for all documents.
There is no harm in carrying everything :)

You take copies, just in case the IO wants to keep the document as a record, or they may just keep your original, which you wouldnt want :)

Good Luck.. Am sure you will do well!!! :)

Cheers!

spungebob - you mean you filed with originals? :(

if yes, i wouldnt know answer to it. I would leave that question to the experts on this forum .. sorry!!

and Good Luck!! :)

i sent them a translated and notarized copy of my birth certificate (actually, my original isn't in the US..... do i need an original for the interview?), marriage certificate, my wife's tax returns for last 3 years and.... that's it...
i don't have any copies of the I-485 and I-130! and no copies of tax returns... she got her tax's stuff from her accountant... do u think we need to ask him to get another copy of tax's forms?
also we have a joint sponsor... and i don't have any copies of papers he did... neither his tax's forms... we had an agreement that everything from his side would be in the sealed envelope...
oh man, i am lost.... all right, does anyone have a suggestions about papers to bring at the interview? i'd really appreciate it.
as a prove of our relationship we have lease, bank account, car title, car insurance; all of it with both names... of cause have some pictures...
also we have family cell phone plan, but there is only my name on it... :)

thanks guys...

Spungebob- Do not worry!!!

For the documents where you DO NOT need them , or can attain another copy is fine to let them have. Example marriage certificate, you can let them have, as you can get another copy for a few dollars.

Tax transcripts, you can get them too.

Medical - yes, they need to be in the sealed envelope, and you have to let USCIS have that.

Just important things like birth certificate , I would take copies and originals, as I know I may not be able to get them again (Or at least may have a LOT of trouble ) :)

Personally, I dont care about the bills and any other evidence , as I wouldnt mind it if USCIS kept a months bills, etc... for the sake of the interview. But if you think you may need them, then take copies.

hope this helps :)
good luck!
