Hi Guys,

Me and ym wife both got GC in first week of Nov. We are travelling to Mexico (for 5 days). We are an Indian Citizens. I checked on Mexican Consulate website that we don't need a visa. My questions are,

1) What docs are required to reenter US.

2) If my GC is lost and if there is any trouble during the trip then can I contact US consulate in mexico since I am now US resident and do I have same consular access as normal US citizens do?

1. Green card is normally sufficient to reenter the US, but sometimes they also ask for your passport.

2. Make sure you have a copy of the green card that can be sent to you if the actual card is lost. You can take that to the US consulate and apply for a "transportation letter" that will enable you to reenter the US. But apart from that, I don't know about contacting the US consulate if "there is any trouble on your trip". The place to contact would be the consulate of your own country.

Among 4 of us, one of us got stamped GC in Indian Passport only ( valid for 6 months ). Since not received Physical GC . It is okay to travel.
Is stamped in passport is equivalent to GC.

Thanks
Ram
