Got GC. How long for citizenship?

I married a USC in 2004 and only got my GC in Sept. this year after I filed a Writ of Mandamus law suit against USCIS. I am not sure if I can now immediately apply for citizenship since I have been married for more than 3 years according to the USCIS rules or does the 3 year count start now after the GC was approved? When does the clock start?
