got FOIPA result..whats next

Hi Folks,
To my surprise, I got my FOIPA result within a week. May not mean much.
But I wonder how I could effectively use this result to expedite my name check.

The letter said that the search of the CRS at FBI located no records.

I know Rahul mentioned that we would have some ammo if we get this result to expedite the name check.

But if the name checks are really backlogged, I don't know how this would help me though as FBI might say that it will take a while to get to my name check as they are backlogged and getting FOIPA cleared means nothing !

I would appreciate if anybody has suggestions. USCIS told me that my name checks have been pending since Mar 2005.

yep I too was excited when I got the FOIPA reply.
Later I contacted congressman to help me out. His office said that FOIPA result mean nothing, just one database was checked, they will check lot more (security clearance, name check, G-325 checks etc).
First significant step I feel is to get a response form FBI saying name check is completed. That would mean something...
 
Thanks stinger. I am feeling so frustrated. So many things have gone bad with my 485 since I filed it in sep , 2002. Initially, a glicth showed me that the case was approved right after my application. That glicth forced them not to request name checks when my FP was done in Aug 2004. Bcos of local congressman followup, they moved the case and requested name checks in Mar 05.

I cannot believe that they don't have a different process to help people with problems caused by their system. This is just outrageous and so inhumane to treat fellow people. on a whole, my GC process is in the 5th year now. Don't know how long I am in it for.....

Can you please post the details like the date and address you mailed your FOIA application to, and the date you received the papers from them ?

I'm planning to send my FOIA application to TSC this week.

Hi kris, I presume you are the person whose I485 were incorrectly approved. What's going on? I had a LUD saying the same standard response " We responded to your inquiry and give us 30 days. I have a feeling this is going to be avery long road. Even congressman cannot do anything as ours have gone for Name check. That's the standard response to ward off more queries.

my congressman was able to get in touch with FBI and got a response that they received my name check in Mar 05. They told the congressman that they received 2.7 million name check requests in Feb 05 and unfortunately mine came after that. So they asked the congressman to followup in December again for the status.

What I don't get is, how come my wife's name check got cleared right away even though her name check was also submitted in Mar 05 just like mine.

By the way, my FOIPA came back as No records.
I have faxed my FOIPA to FBI using this pdf..the number is on the pdf.

I got my FOIPA in 2 weeks, which as you said, means nothing.

My senator's inquiry shows that my name check is pending (while my wife was done), I don't even know when the name check was requested and how long it has been pending.

To make things worse, In the next 2 months, many overseas F1 applicants will apply for F1 visas, which will add more waiting time for us, since name check for visas receive top priority.
 
Sai - FOIPA Address??

May I know the fax # to fax the FOIPA form. Also can I also please get the mailing address to mail the form incase if the fax doe't work. I would really appreciate that.
