Got EAD from Boston office

After applying online with RD June 9 and didn't get the EAD yet, I went to Boston office (JFK Bldg) and got an EAD the same day after an excruciating wait (7 hours). The EAD is valid from Sept 15 to May 15, 1994 (8 months). My old EAD had already expired August 8. But since I have no job it didn't matter.

My I-485 is still stuck (RD 7/18/01).
 
Hi Freaked,
can you give more info on how you got your EAD by walking in? I applied for my EAD renewal and am cutting close. Since I am working on my EAD, I can't let it lapse.

Can you suggest me in case I do not recieve my EAD by next month ( which is when my cuurent one expires), where can I go and get an interim one?
