A friend of mine got approved recently. He got notice letter for stamping as well as his wife. However, his kids got Green Card, yes, the physical card, directly by mail at the same time! His kids doesn't need to do stamping at all! What a surprise!

Kids are not fingerprinted for the card, therefore their card is produced immediately without waiting for stamping/fingerprinting. Not so for adults.

When did his Kids send their photos ????

USCIS did not ask new photo for kids?

However, my kids, who is even younger than my friend's, did the same thing as what I did, signature and fingerprint.

Yes, it is the regular Green Card. Remember we all submited two photos, at least I did, when we applied I-485 which is suppose to be used for the card.

No, that couldn't be true. The pictures for stamping must not be older than 3 months. So you must submit new pictures.

Yes, INS used the kid's photos provided when they applied I-485 two years ago. That is why it is surprise.
