My husband (USC) and i had an interview at the INS office in SF in March '03. The interviewer asked to see the original birth certificate, more photos, tax returns for the past three years, which i somehow forgot to bring with me. The interviewer then told us that the INS will send us a letter for more required documents within 90 days.

Here's my questions, presuming i have all the documents required,

1. Let's say i submit all the required documents, what is the time line for me to get a stamp in my passport?
2. Will the INS call us for a second interview?
3. Will the INS revoke my GC application?
4. Will i get deported?
5. What would be the worst case scenario that i might encounter.

Any answers to these questions will be greatly appreciated.

do not panic. i think you are fine. there is some time delay due to lack of document. that is all.

i do not think there is second interview.
INS will not reject your application. they just will ask more documents.
they will not deport you simply because of lacking of document, unless they believe marriage is a fraud. if your marriage is geniune, do not worry.
the worst is that you will have 6 months delay.

however, since you could work, you could travel, it really does not matter if they hold you a little longer, right? I will apply for my wife's GC soon. after filing the form, i will just relax and forget all till called up for interview. i do not care if it takes 1 year or 3 years.

anseekr,

Can you please let me know when you filed and approximately when you got the AOS notice? I'm still waiting for mine.

I wish I could help you out with your questions but I'm sure once you provide them with more proof everything will be ok.

Thanks and Good luck.
