Got an Error from INS status site

I ran it maybe once or twice yesterday 105 in total and just ran it now....got to the 6th case and it gave the too many hits error.

I sure hope INS hasn't caught on and limited the number of hits to less than 1000.

Anyone else experience this?

Case Status
We're sorry, but you have been denied access due to too many inquiries.

The purpose of the Customer Relationship Interface System is to give customers and their representatives access to case status information on their applications in our electronic inventory. To ensure that customers have full access to check on their cases, we use several volume limits.

You received this message because you repeatedly entered invalid receipt numbers.

If you believe the problem may be that you simply repeatedly made mistakes typing in the specific receipt numbers you wish to check, you can close your browser, come right back and try again. If you are blocked when you try again, it is because you either repeated your mistake or because your total volume of inquiries over the past 24 hours has at that point exceeded our overall volume limit, in which case you will be blocked for a period of time.

Yeah you crossed the limits of INS

expectations and client behaviour:D and the INS will kick you out of their site for 24-48 hours.

They do not like anyone more intelligent than them and you did the sin of being one!:)

Enjoy your Gauntanamo bay stay for 24 to 48 hours

Do this, disable images before you run the scan.

Also, I have noticed that the 1000 hit thing isn't limited from midnight to midnight, it seems like a simple filter to avoid a denial of service attack. So if you ran 500 right now, and 1 hour later you plan on running another 500, you might get stopped after 100 .. even though total is only 600.

Also, if you space it enough, you might be able to scan more than 1000 in a span of 24 hours.

No, I think they do monitor last 24 hours for 1000 limit, this is simpler, just log all IPs and check. If the original script by off-patience was in use, it could be thrown out before reaching 1000, if one 485 case disappeared from the database. I bumped into this myself. It happens because the script continues querying the same spot on missing case. Limit on queries for non-existing cases is about 5-10 in a row. After that you are banned as of reaching 1000.
Easy way to overcome limit is dial-up. Re-dial after every 500-700 queries. It is slow but steady, like CSC work on 485 :)

Are you guys serious? Haven't you heard of anonymous proxy servers? I don't even browse the web normally without one on. If a true super-anonymous proxy server is used, it won't even send the IP address to INS to log and keep track off. I usually run 3000+ WAC number scans when I want too. And stop at 3000 only because I get bored.

Let me know if you want any links to proxy servers. I had posted it a while back but can always post it again.

ND022202,

Dialup? :) Jeez I run scans on DSL and think it is slow after T1 at work! :)

140,
I don't have DSL at home because of quality of phone lines and I don't run from the office because of firewall and stuff. This is why my option is dial-up.

Ok please explain me the "Super-anonymous" server, and how it will prevent the http server from knowing your IP Address?

I went to check ONLY my case status yesterday after one full week of not checking. I got this message. I tried 3 times continuously for my WAC number and got the same message all the three times.

Guess there is some bug...!!!

BCIS is BS.....

*sigh* laziness is probably as infectious as SARS! SillyMan is one the last people I would have deemed lazy but ....

It is really easy, just have to type anonymous proxy server in the search field of your fave search engine (www.google.com). Sit back and browse the links.

The essence of an anonymous proxy is that you tell your browser that all requests should go through that proxy, which strips all hints that the request came from you in particular, and then handles the actual request. The real web server being contacted has no clue where the original request came from, although they can obviously see that it was from your anon proxy host.

Difference between anonymous and super-anonymous is just the degree to which the web server being contacted is kept in the dark with regards to your identification.
