Is FP done date correct?
We have been under the impression that oct-99 to mar-00 Inida/China are FP\'d recently.

Looking at your priority date, I see that it is not current. I don\'t mean to get your hopes down but usually INS waits until the priority dates become current and then they go by ND month to be current to finalize adjudication. Hence I feel that you still have at least a few months to go. My ND is 02/22/00 and I wad FPd on 03/15 and my PD is 01/93 (EB3 India) Comments anyone?

YES YOU ARE RIGHT BUT WHY DO THEY TRANSFER MY CASE TO LOCAL INS FOR INTERVIEW YOU NOW I LL HAVE TO WAIT IN LINE AT LOCAL INS?
ONE MORE THING MY WIFE WAS BORN IN AFRICA AND THEY ARE CURRENT DO YOU THINK IF I USE HER IT CAN SPEED UP .

God. My ND is 5/2000. But I FP\'d in October 2000. My case is not yet transferred to a local INS. As I mentioned earlier, when you FP does not matter. Processing still goes by ND. Hope that makes you feel better.

Well, technically INS can transfer ti local INS for various reasons other than just approval. Also transferring to local INS doesn\'t mean quicker approval. The answer to your next question will totally depend who the primary applicant is. If it is you then it may not help.

Just my 2 cents

hey up,
VSC will trtansfer your file to Arlington office in Va. The washington area and virginia state fall under local ins office in arlington. ITs taking 20 months from when you file your i-485 application. so, if you filed in feb 2000 you should wait for another 4 to 5 months. My friends case is similar to yours and he got an interview after 3 months. Arlington officewill process only family cases not employment based cases. they are the worse. you should just wiat for a month and then go there and ask about your case. i also live in va and work in DC area. i am afraid if they do the same thing to my case. they are 5 or 6 people whose their cases been transfered to arlingotn office in this forum. you can check all the posting for the last three weeks and you can talk with them and share info.
i just know two of them have already been to arlington office a couple of times. any way good luck to you and i hope you get your approval soon,
cheers,

it really makes no difference if are indian or other countries,
its just arlington office which is loaded with applications and all that.
you just have to push them all the time and go there twice a month.
this is what my friend did and got his interview ahead of others who were waiting according to him.
but please call a lawyer and check whith them. there are plenty of them in virginia.
good luck man

I think, your case "has been" classified under your wife\'s country and hence your PD is current. You are very lucky in that sense. However, a transfer to local office is usually to safe guard against any GC fraud. Usually, in employment based cases that is not a problem (unless you changed jobs -- but then the provisions of the new law guard you against that. For family based cases, there fraudulent marriages just to get GC.)

So, my guess, either is either there is some "out-of-status" related issue in your case or this is just a routine transfer. Nothing to worry about, stay calm and if necessary take a good lawyer with you at the time of interview.

For now you better check any loop holes in your case, like out of status or marriage cert etc and get ready for the interview. The interview may be a simple one but always prepare for the worst. I would suggetst you taking your attorney when you are called for the interview. Based on your PD being not current it should be atleast 2-3 months before you see anything happening on your case. But when your dates are current you are very close to getting a call from them.
