Good news on Canadian Front!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Many of you might know this already....
Canada\'s immigration laws are changing from Jun28, 2002. For those of who are already Canadian residents( landed immigrants) the residency requirement has changed. Now new residency requirement is that a person has to stay for 2 yrs in any 5 yrs period. In short, a person can stay outside Canada for 3 yrs and not loose his/her canadian green card!!!!!!.
This is some good news for people who landed in 2000 and onwards and waiting for 485 stage. Atleast guys we still have some backup to fall back upon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

U have a very negative attitude to everything....think Positive...

What\'s wrong with your life......do u have erectile dysfunction or something

hey don\'t post stupid half stories! According to the new law

u need to have a pr card to prove that u are a canadian pr, and the landing paper will become obsolete when everybody applies and gets the pr card, or when the got decides that it has given enough time for everyone to get a card. To get the pr card for people who landed before is a tough job if u have not stayed in canada. You will have to show two references who are Candian PR/ Canadian citizens and show all the proof like taxes, employment, residential details and stuff to get your card. If you get the card then you can stay out for a longer period.
Without the card, you will be subject to a test/questioning at the border, in other words PRs with a valid card are deemed to be in status and poeple with landing papers, your status will be determined by the officer @ port of entry. So for people who landed before it is a mixed news.
AND THERE IS A SEPERATE THREAD FOR CANADIAN STUFF, THIS IS 485 RELATED!! ANYWAY U SEEM NOT RELATED TO 485 ALSO :))
