Hi,
I was on H4 but in september' 04 I transfered to F1 and in December'04 I graduated . I am expecting my OPT around January 27th. I wanted to go to India once my OPT comes. So In India I have to go for the F1 visa stamping. I heard from people that my chances of F1 rejection are very high as I will be already on OPT and I am already Graduated so the officer might ask me why do I need F1 stamp. Please help me, let me know if someone went thru this same experence.
Also having a job offer will help the situation?

Thanks a lot,
-Gayatri.

Don't even try. They will not give you F1 visa just because you have a job offer and OPT card. Why don't you get back in as H4? Unless I'm missing something here.

Thanks a lot for ur response. If I come on H4 from India I won't be able to work in US. That's why I want to use my OPT.

OPT means NOTHING to the Consulates guys.
In fact, i think it adds on some "bad points."
OPT gives you the chance to work, which leads to a hint that you might never go back to India, which leads to no more F-1 visa for you.
