Hi,
This is my first post in this forum.
Background:
=========
I have been in the US since 1999. I did my masters then was on OPT and finally got the H1B in January 2002. Got laid off in August 2002, joined an Indian consultant, got H1 approved, but have only one paycheque(for the month of October 2002).
Have been working in a different company since January 2003, without any issues.

I have the following questions:

1.) Earnings in my W2 for year 2002 is much lesser than those of 2001 and 2003. Would this cause any problem? I am sure there will be a lot of people who were in a similar situation with a desi company. If some of you can explain what you did it will be very useful.

2.) In the form DS-157, it asks for info about last 2 employers. I intend to put the date of employment with the desi company from September to December 2002, although I have only one paycheque for October 2002. Will this raise issues?

3.) I do not have my Tax return for year 1999. I called the IRS and they said they can send copies of my 99 W2 but not my Tax return. For that they said I will have to fill out a form and it will take 60 days. The problem is I am leaving for Indian in 30 days and have interview date at Chennai on December 9. Will this be OK? I will have W2 and returns for all years but 1999.

I am very nervous and hence any information that will answer my questions, especially from people who have been in similar situations will be really appreciate

Thanks

Hi,
Thanks for your reply. I called the IRS and they said that they were not able to retieve my 1999, 1040-NR transcript. They said they will send me the 2000 transcript in a week but 99, they said they cant find the transcript, so I will have to order a copy which takes about 60 days

Also, how essential is it to have letters from all previous employers. I may not be able to get one from my previous employer

Thanks
