HI everyone, nice community this, helpful.
Does anyone here knows whether going out of USA and coming back can be a problem, after you get a waiver even if you have valid j1 visa stamp on your passport.

Someone told me that if immigration officer determines that your intent is to stay long in USA, that can be a problem at port of entry.

Thanks,

Someone is correct. You may be denied entry because of your having obtained a J-1 waiver, or you may not encounter problems. In the past, it's just a matter of luck, and it's up to you to decide if you want to risk it or not.

Hi, thanks for the tip, do you know any place where this rule is described in detail, I am trying to search internet but can not find direct answer to this question

The J-1 visa holder with J-1 waiver should be able to travel out side USA

The J-1 visa holder with J-1 waiver should be able to travel out side USA. But you may get problem when you renew your J-1 visa with USCIS service center.

The J-1 visa holders may travel outside the United States, and upon reentry they shall continue to be governed by the appropriate skills list, as long as they continue in the same program area. (also see http://www.greencardapply.com/j1/j1_process.htm)
