I'm scheduled to attend for H1 Visa re-issuance interview at Chennai in Jan 2006 using 8th year H1 extension approval notice. I've spent lot of hours searching this forum to see if my below questions have been already answered, but could not locate. I really appreciate if anybody can throw some light based on their experience.
- folks who worked in US for more than 6 years and have obtained H1 visa revalidation in India AFTER the 6th year, did VO ask you the reason for extending the H1B visa beyond 6 years? Do they query us whether Green card processing has been initiated by our employer? Should we be forthright and say that H1 extension approval is obtained based on pending labor/i-140 OR should we say that extension is obtained because the assigned project in the U.S is not finished yet?
-I'm gonna tell them that I am working for a Client on behalf of my employer as is the case.I've no problem obtaining letter from my Manager at Client's place about my work/project details etc as I've been working for this client for the past 6 years. Will that suffice OR should the letter be from the client's Marketing/HR dept? I'm going to get letter from my employer as well. Not sure if my employer can provide the contract documents with the client as they may contain confidential info like billing rate etc. If I can't get that contract document from employer, what is the proper explaination?
-salary quoted in my I-129/LCA petition is 15K less than the actual salary my employer is currently paying me? Can this be an issue for VO?
-I don't have a track of my ex-U.S employers' whereabouts. They have all been relocated since I left them more than 3 years ago. Am I responsible to obtain their latest contact details(I tried, could not find them) OR can I provide their contact info as it was at the time I left them(from my W2's issued from them)?
-lastly, I'm planning to take with me all the paystubs, W2's and Tax return transcripts for the past 7 years(incl 2005). As it's gonna be a huge bunch of docs, do we need to have photocopies of all these when attendign the interview?
Thank you in advance..
