Going for CP

I am just too frustated with the 485 delay (non)explanations and thinking to go the CP route through AC140.
Happened to chance upon this thread which gave me further encouragement. http://boards.immigrationportal.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=101958&perpage=15&pagenumber=1
Having the RD date near JIT is no relief since one can be transferred anytime to Missouri, local office etc etc.
Does anyone have any firsthand info about this that will help me and others.
Thank you.

Just curious...

to know whether those using AC-21 via 485 can opt for CP after having changed employers? Any inputs?

In the recent Murthy chat I read Chennai Consulate doesn't accept AC-140 and they also replied Attorney murthy that they are not obligated to accept that. So please check with your consulate before deciding on this.

Goodluck.

Please also understand the impact of switching from I-485 to CP. If CIS thinks that you are going to abandon your I-485, you will lose the privilege of staying and working in this country using EAD, unless you have a valid H1 or L1 as a backup.

I-485 is very slow these days, but you are authorized to stay until they come up with a decision, you can work and travel (as long as you are not subject to the 3 or 10-year bar) just like if you have a greencard.

Thats true. Atleast you have some flexibility here, what if some thing goes wrong (not that it happens) at CP?
