Going back? and back again...

For the first time I have seen anything like this

- AILA draft processing dates published on 8/15/06 at
http://www.aila.org/content/default.aspx?docid=20272

Processing date
I-140 - March 16, 2006
I-485 - February 18, 2006

The version published yesterday at
https://egov.immigration.gov/cris/jsps/Processtimes.jsp?SeviceCenter=Texas

I-140 - February 23, 2006
I-485 - December 13, 2005

In 10 days they have rolled back 2 months?!

WTF?!

edited later: P.S. And a few weeks later it is back to March 8. See my post down the thread for a mad rant.

must be an error!

Somebody was telling me that I-485 was pretty much blindly following a 6 month schedule for the past 1 year...at TSC...

Must be an error...

According to Bush's new agenda for Immigration plan - all processing of most applications need to be processed by 6 month target....and TSC was just complying with that policy early on....

Same thing with AP

Same thing with Advanced Parole..

It was 07/07
Now 05/25

Not sure what is happening. We dropped our vacation plan with no hope of getting AP approved.

Kishore_s : What to say to Congressman?

Hi Kishore_s,

I tried contacting my congressman for Namecheck - the moment I said - background check...they are saying there isn't much that they can do.....it varies on an individual basis...

and refused to contact FBI - saying it's an intra-department issue...that they cannot do much...

How did you approach your congressman to contact FBI?

Hi Santa4u,

Try contacting your senator. Tell them you are not asking to expedite the namecheck. Simply requesting their help in finding out the status.

Thanks
Kishore

Everybody, repeat after Axxe:

WTF !!!

I agree. WTF. How is this even possible? There are only two possible ways to explain this:

1. They just recovered a container full of applications that fell of the truck last Christmas.

2. Their statistics were always off, but now they were forced to adjust it for some reason.

Which one do you think it is....? I am not sure, but I do know that I don't believe in Santa Claus.

My guess the answer is (1). The mentioned container came from California with cases dated back to August-September. There are a lot of people waiting. I think those cases got properly accounted.

I totally share your feeling on the subject. It would be nice to think it an error, but I guess we won't know until the next processing time post... This sucks!

They updated on the 28th again - same date - Dec. 13th. This is obviously correct.

I don't really see how the new reporting method is superior. Your case can still be approved much faster than what they post (look at so many fast I-140 approvals!), or take longer because of name check. The only difference is that now you have to wait longer to be able to start bugging them about the status of your pending case, as the RDs have rolled back... But oh well.

CIS wants to be as unhelpful as ever

Back in 2003, TSC used to report a separate processing time for I-140 for I-140/485 concurrently filed cases!
Just before my RD was reached, TSC all of a sudden decided to stop this separate reporting. Then some wise men in TSC thought I-140 for concurrently filed cases has to be approved only when I-485 processing date is reached! In the whole process they screwed up my case so badly, that now I am stuck in retrogression.
By changing the reporting format and style, CIS wants to be as unhelpful to us as ever!

Really speaking, they should provide us an insight as to how they come up with these dates, like, 90% of the cases processed were below these dates....

And, they should set a cap on turnaround guarantees, like 3 months for RFE processing, 6 months for processing I-140 and I-485....that way the USCIS officers are held accountable for their performance and processing! Anything above these dates, one can come and pick up the approval from the local district office (like Interim EAD)...

Without of any kind of guarantee on turnaround times, it's gonna be like it's today...some guys get it in 4 years & some guys in lesser times...That's just unfair!

In another couple weeks these jokers moved the date 3 months forward.

I guess somebody reminded them that by law it shall be 180 days, and lo-and-behold - 180 days it is. reality be damned.

What a bunch of idiots. How about giving an ACTUAL status and prognosis to your frigging paying customers?
