Hi Everybody:

   First of all, I would like to thank God for the result of my
I-485 application having a happy ending.

   Secondly, thanks to Rajiv S. Khanna for sponsoring this great web site
and to all participants who care to share their information with
others. This discussion board would be nothing without you folks!!

   I would like to appeal those who visit this forum and have something
to share to please kindly do so. Also, please publish your PD, RD, ND, EB,
country, RFE, etc at www.immitracker.com (there are guys out there doing
a great job maintaining that web site). We are all benefited from the
information we share here and there, and for sure we always get more than
we give when we participate. I specially admire people who get an RFE and
have the energy to come to this web site to post their misfortune just for
the sake of letting people know that another case has been reviewed
and will get delayed. These hardships are sometimes debilitating, but
I am sure those people also get some comfort just by sharing their
information with others and thus giving some contribution. My special
thanks to those people and hang in there ... God takes care of you in
His good ways!!

   Finally, some of my personal information:

* NON-RIR Labor Certification (filed in late 1996 and took about 3 years)
* Regular I-140 (took about 1 year)
* I-485 (took about 1 year)
* Never changed employer (one H1B visa and two extensions)
* Filed for EAD and AP at the same time as I-485. EAD expires the
same day as extended H1B, i.e., in 12/14/2001. Never used Advanced Parole.

Total GC Processing Time since I started my Labor Certification and including
handling time by lawyers and other delays: approximately 5 years and 4 months.

* EAC-01-006-XXXXX
* RD=09/13/2000
* ND=10/10/2000
* EB3 (probably, as I don\'t have Master Degree)
* Other Country
* AD=08/31/2001 (Approval Date)

I was very anxious lately because everything was getting expired
in December (EAD, my 6 years H1B, Advanced Parole). To make things
worse, my current contract will expire in September and despite
my manager\'s interest in renewing my contract, it will be very
unlikely that I get it renewed due to ongoing cost cutting by company.

Called IIO in the beginning of August when I saw first Oct/2000 case
approved and I was told that my case would take 1 or 2 months and have
been checking AVM daily ever since.

I was planning to call again the first week of September, but my anxiety
wouldn\'t let me wait any longer ... so I called IIO at about 12:38 on
Aug 31 (waited for 10 min for an INS representative). He took my case
number and told myself that an approval notice had been mailed today.
Later on I checked AVM and it was also updated with the message
announcing the approval in August 31st, 2001.

I\'ve just updated immitracker.com!!

Now, it\'s time to switch from the "thrilling" waiting line (I-485) to the
"cool-down" waiting line (Plastic Card)!

Good Luck to everybody and God bless you all!!

Congratulations...

Surprisingly, I have almost the same history as of "set-me-free", but I am not free yet!!
PD 12/96
RD 10/25/2000
ND 11/22/2000
EAC 01-040-5xxxxx
EB3 (I guess, because at the time
of filing labor cert., MS was pending due to thesis)
Country: Other
First EAD Expiring as well as H1B on 12/2001
Never used AP.
Never Changed the Employer for last seven years.
Called only once to IIO, for change of address.

Please be in touch with this forum in future.

Thanx and have fun.

Congrats...and Thanks for updating the Tracker.

Good to know that INS is clearing OCTOBER cases quickly, as per tracker and postings on this web site 50% of OCTOBER cases were approved. The normal trend is approvals spreads into next 3 months at a ratio of about 20-30%.

Congrats set-me_free!!!!!
Great expression and essay friend.
Getting green card in US is one of the known things, which is not in our control (time control).
Enjoy the freedom.
