Friends,

I am waiting on citizenship interveiw. Employer asking to go to HYD for offshore for few months. Looks like I gonna get interview in Aug or Sept in charlotte. I am thinking about go there from July 15 th and able to get back
at interview time. Is this workout? any impact on me if I do like this?
Thanx..

N400 Sent to TSC..09/07/07
FP done in charlotte....02/22/08

how do you know when you'll get the IL? did they tell you? tell employer to send someone else until you resolve your pending N400. that's my advice. you've waited since september, why mess it up now? also looks like interviews scheduled for weekends are getting short notice IL, a few weeks. what if you get one in meantime. will you be able to get back on time?

Hey,

Thanx for reply. Yes, I am able to jump in within less than 10 days, as I know.
Basically, I am doing same job from here in USA & in india, so I have a option
of plugin to work site from US or India. No diff..Thanx..

Ya..thanx..basically working on that one only with high priority.
But looks like situation becoming like go there. So, thinking about possible
second options..thanx..

The main point is do you have someone in the US to pick up your mail and keep you updated while you are gone? If you can come to the US and complete your interview and oath, you will still have to stay here till you get the passport and Indian work visa afterwards.

So this can require a stay for perhaps 1 month in the US while the paperwork is complete. Can you be away from Hyd for so long once you are involved in that project? These are some things to consider before you commit not to mention the cost of travel that probably your company will pick up.

Please clarify: are you being sent on a business trip, or are you being posted overseas for some period of time? There is a big difference for impact to N-400. Business trips are ok, so long as you do not exceed the limits for physical present, continuous residence etc. Overseas posting needs more thought, especially if you will be paid by the overseas office.

It is posting overseas for particular period of time.
Immediately after getting citizenship, gonna filing for my wife's K3 visa.
So, thinking about work there upto get her visa.
and today final update I got from mgmt was, no need to go upto I become
citizen.
BTW, is it ok If I am here only upto get citizenship but paid by overseas office
from next month? that satisfies continuous residency status right?
basically it is same team but working with offshore guys from coming days.
Thanx..

Friends,

I want to know clearly about following please:

I am done with FP & waiting on interview.
Now can I work for company in india (from US only)?
any impact on my upcoming interview?
Thanx..

Remember you have to maintain continuous residence all the way up until your oath, and if your time in India is longer than 6 months it creates the presumption that you have broken continuous residence (a presumption that can be overcome, but the burden of proof is on you).

So when the IO asks you if your employment information is up to date, are you going to tell him that you are now employed by an overseas company?

You are standing on the edge of a deep, dark rat hole. I recommend you get your citizenship sorted out before doing anything that could be construed as intent to move abroad.

Friends,

Ya, all those updates r absolutely true.
I can stay here upto get my citizenship & passport,no pblm with that.
If I get offer letter from overseas like 6 months contract, that is going to
work out I beleive. Or,
I gonna ask them to pay from their US office, if they have one. I have a scheduled call with them for tomorrow.
I am thinking about these 2 options as final shot. If these options also wrong and not going to workout, I just decided to stay here with US employer
upto my OATH & getting passport. Any thoughts? Thanx..

Third option (stay here) is best, followed by second option (paid from US). Good luck.
