I am very interested in this too.
I can't file 485 for years to come. My questions are:

1. Can I go to full time school with F1 visa, then come back to my current position after several years, suppose my current position is still avaible to me;

2. Can I go back to home country and apply for my current position after several years and then submit 485?

The chances of getting F1 is almost nil if you reveal that you
have already filed for LC/I-140. Your only option is countine to work the current employer and go to school part-time.

Yes, this will also reset yout H1 clock for another 6 years. But be aware that H1 quota is very limited and will be available for only few months each year. No H1 available till 2006 Oct now.

I read an article written by Dinesh Shenoy, an established lawyer. He is trying to do something for people like me under current circumstances. I wish his voice will be heard.

If one of below is true I will be happy. I don't mind to wait for many many years for 485 approval:
1. invoke AC21 to change employer 180 days after 140 approval;
2. One can file 485 once 140 is cleared.

I think it might be easier to get passed by congress compared to visa number increase.

You do not need to go to school, just pending AOS is enough.
Having EAD will allow you to work for any employer while you are going to school.
 
I mean I go back to school full time on EAD? I didn't mean I intended to go back to school to keep in status.
