Hi Ginnu & others:

How do I change the address on the I-485 once I move from one state to another. Other actual fact is now I am vacating the house and visiting India for a period of 2-months and later on my return I want to relocate to another state. Do I need to inform INS rightaway even before I return from India? If that is the case I want to use my cousin's address since I do not know the actual address that I am planning to move on return from India.

What are the forms that I need to use to do this change of address? Can any one send me the link for downloading them. Can it be done over the telephone instead?

What are the downsides of not informiong the change of address to the INS immediately. Can they abandon the I-485?

call 800 # to give the new address for all pending cases.

also send AR-11 to correct address.

------------ write a letter to service center where your I-485 is pending, provide your name, DOB, I-485 reciept# your A# and also write your past address and NEW address . out side the envelope write in big bold letter: ATTN: Address change on pending I-485 and send the letter with certifed return reciept. also update the NCSC 1-800 and also file form AR11

--------- form AR11 is to be filed but that will not change your address on I-485, for that you have to write to USCIS and update on 1-800

--------- you can call1800 but many times the address on I-485 is not changed better write letter + inform 1-800 and file AR11
