Ginnu, Jaxen and other gurus:

I am ready to join in another employer and we would file a H1B transfer next week. Right now I am trying to decide if I need to pay the extra $1000 for the premium processing or if I just file for the regular one.

Imagine the scenario that I start to work for the new employer after I get the H1 transfer receipt notice (regular processing). If later on there is any RFE related to the old employer, I might not be able to get the proper help/information from the old employer, then my pending H1 transfer might be in some trouble.

Considering this case, should I just go ahead to file the premium application? How safe is the regular processing, except for the extremely long time it takes?

Thank you for your advice.

Sorry, I did not make my situation more clear. I just spent $1000 for the premium H1 extension so that I can initiate the H1 transfer. Therefore, I really hesitate if I need to spend another $1000 for the H1B premium transfer, due to budget limit :-(

I guess my question is whether it is worth another $1000 to file for a premium transfer. Or the regular one will just do it...

---- I think you did file H1 extension with premium processing and you got H1 extension approved and now you want to do H1 to H1 transfer. You can file H1 transfer with recent pay stubs and no need of premium processing the day you receive the receipt of H1 transfer filling you can join new employer, remember if you have to go out of USA and don’t have Visa stamp in passport then you need H1transfer approval notice to get Visa stamp at this time many service centers are taking 5-7 months for H1 extension or H1 transfer approval.
if you want H1transfer notice in 15-20 days then file premium processing , you have to decide
