Hello everyone,

I've been a citizen for over 10 years and now finally getting my passport. The problem is, passport has been creased over my name so I traced over it with a Pen.

can I still use the certificate to get a passport?

Or is the certificate void? If so, how can I get a replacement?

Thanks for any help

You wrote on your NC after your oath ceremony? That's crazy. I remember reading about someone here who made a correction on the bio page of his passport WITH A PEN!

In my opinion, you NC is void. You can try applying for a passport using it, but there is a chance it will be rejected. You might be able to pull it off, though, because there IS a number on it, and the passport office might be able to cross reference that information with your details.

For a replacement NC, you'll have to file form N-565: http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/us...toid=a910cac09aa5d010VgnVCM10000048f3d6a1RCRD . It's not cheap, and it will take a while. I hope they accept your NC so you can get a passport now.
