Getting new H1B visa

Hi,

I am waiting for a new H1B visa. My ND is 04/30/2002. I received my EAC number in May, 2002. My processing center is the Vermont Service Center. I am currently on a student visa which will expire shortly. Hence I am concerned about getting my H1B visa soon. Do you have any idea on how long it will take me to get my H1B visa?

Could you please reply at the earliest as I'm really anxious.

Do you have the receipt notice?

Call the number mentioned in that receipt notice after office hours, and find out the progress of the H1 visa using your EAC number.

If the processing time mentioned in the automated voice system matches what you are experiencing, there is nothing much you can do.
But if does not, then you can call VSC during office hours (needs patience and time ~ 3 hrs) find out from INS what is happening.
 
Thanks for the info. I tried calling up VSC but couldn't get through. Typically how long does the processing take? Doesn't it take around 3 months for to get an H1B visa?
