Getting Married with Pending I-485 application... Help!!!

I submited I-485 in Oct, 2001 and got finger print last week. I am planning to get married with my girlfriend soon. Currently, my girlfriend is on an expried F-1 but she is waiting for her H-1B approval.

Can I file I-485 for her? If so, what is the procedure? What kind of impact it will have on my I-485 application (delay??)... Greatly appreciate any input on this or anyone is in the same boat. I am sure there are many. Please help.

I guess the only delay is going to be getting the Alien number and getting a IIO to generate your spouse\'s fingerprinting notices. i.e. Administrative delays only. Should not impact your GC progress much.

If you are going to wait for H1 before filing for 485 for your spouse you might be risking approval before you are ready to file for your spouse...

Thanks for your info. So, what would you suggest? Apply H-4 for her. Or, apply her as F-1 (expired). You said risking approval. Do you mean if she gets H-1B approved after I got my I-485 approved then she will be NOT eligiable for the I-485?
