getting married/register after taking Oath

Hi forum members,
I got naturalized today (became a US citizen) and would like to know if I can marry by proceeding with getting my marriage license and registering the marriage in US. Or, Do I need to wait for my US passport to arrive and get the confirmation that my Indian passport is surrendered to the Indian Embassy successfully so that I can get married?

Sorry if this is a silly question. The purpose is to apply for my spouse's green card by filing I-130, I-485 and all other necessary documents immediately after the marriage.

Thanks for the response in advance.

Proof of naturalization is not a requirement to apply for a marriage license in the US. Most states simply require you to present your social security number and/or an id such as your driver's license in order to apply for a marriage license.

You are expected indicate that you are a citizen when filing the I-130/I-485, not at the time of getting married. The officials overseeing and recording the marriage don't have to register that you are a citizen, in order for you to sponsor I-130/I-485 as a citizen.
