Getting married before H1 stamping?

Here's the situation :

I am on OPT right now, my H1B kicks in this Oct. My fiance is already on H1B. We want to get married sometime after October in our home country - so this will be before my H1 stamping is done. Is this an issue for H1 stamping - that my marital status has changed from the time I applied to the time I am getting it stamped?

Any inputs would be appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks Ginnu! So how does the process work? If I go for the stamping interview after our wedding, will I need additional documentation, anything of that sort?

when you go for Visa stamping you don't need additional documentation related to your marriage. if your wife goes for h4 visa stamping then she will need marriage certificate. Mumbai US consulate also asks for husband name in her passport and married lady in India normally get new passport copy with her married last name/surname and her husband name also on her passport.

Oh well the complication is : Both of us are currently in the US on H1B. My fiance's H1 is already stamped. Sorry, should have mentioned this earlier.

if you are on Valid status in US on H1 B then you got I-94 attached with H1 approval notice and no need to go out for Visa stamping. If you go out of US then you have to get Visa stamp from US embassy or US consulate out of US to enter US. if your wife is on H1 and working on H1 status then she don't need to do anything for your Visa if you go out of US and your Visa stamp will be based on Documents from US employer and your eligibility documents/H1 approval notice. After marriage she can use her Present name as her LC or I-140 may be filed with her current name.
