Getting laid off when u are on your EAD/I-485 for more than a year : EB3

Folks, I Filed my Labor in May \'99 and I-485 in Nov \'99 in EB3 @ Vermont. I finished my finger printing too. Does anybody know when I should expect my GC to be stamped? At this stage, if I am laid off from my present company, what are the options which I would have? -Neil

If you are more then 180 days, you can change your employer, and show yoru new employers letter when you get a RFE.DOnt worry you are safe, only search a new employer.

you are okay. I am on I-485 since Nov 99, 2nd time since then I have been on bench and not getting paid. last time i was for 3 months, this time so far it has been 1 month +, and company terminates when you are not on a project. However, if I find work with another company, my company will not get itself involved in the GC process. Since I am waiting (while on EAD) and not looking elsewhere, my company is still processing the RFE\'s and emp letter.

Given that you should be okay. Mostly depends on your relationship with the company. Good luck.
