Getting i-EAD at local INS office

Hi.

My 90 days since filing for 485 are over on Oct 19. And I would like to go get a i-EAD from the local office.

Can someone tell me what documents I need to carry with me ?
And also is the i-EAD card valid only for 3 months(what my lawyer told me)
Also, what INS office I should go to ? San Jose ?

You need Form I765 (duly filled), EAD signature card, Copy of I-94 (both sides), I485 and I765 receipts, Check or cash $100, and 2 immigration style photo. Also, take your passport and driver\'s license for identification purpose.
Also, to get your number at San Jose INS, you need to be in line before 4:00 am.
 
Are u sure about $100

Guys on this forum never mentioned about $ 100. They said it is already paid when you apply for EAD ,so you will be not paying again for IEAD. I Don\'t know which one is correct

I took photocopies of my 485 receipt and 765 application receipt and
a completed 765 application.
Assuming you already applied for EAD(along with your 485 application)
you don\'t need to pay $100/- application fee again (show 765
receipt if they ask you to pay).
Passport is needed for identification and legal status.

INS takes care of your photo & signature etc..
You can go to any INS service center. I went to SFO.

Technically, $100 should not be charged. But, it\'s better to have because sometimes they ask for it and I think it\'s better to give the money and get iEAD rather than going in any confontration with INS folks.
These are my thoughts, finally it\'s your best judgement.
 
Address of local INS office

Can you give me the address of the INS office in San Jose and in SFO ?

Also, how long is i-ead valid ? My lawyer told me that its valid only for 3 months. Is that true ?

San Jose Office Location: 1887 Monterey Road, San Jose, CA 95112

iEAD is vaild for 3 months but I have seen SFO giving for 4 months too.
 
Do you need to be physically there in local office?

I thought that you can just download the form, file it with I-485 receipt and photos, pay $100, Then wait for a couple of month.
Also, can we file it ourselves instead of help from our atterney?
