Hi:

My dad recently became a permanent resident. I want him to file for me but I am also wondering what are the chances of me getting a H1B visa if he files. I am currently on a F1 visa graduating in 2007 and hoping to go on the H1 after working as I know him filing can take a long while.

Also what is the period it will take for me to get anb immigrant number and also my dad presently lives outside the us. Will this affect me getting my 1-30 approved. Input is greatly need. Ive over here since 2000 and its frustrating getting an education that you cannot really put to use with all the restrictions and limitations.

Thanks
Candice

If your dad file i 130 for you, it won't create any problem to get H1 B since H1 b is dual intent visa.
It will take long period of time to get your immigration # current since your father is a GC holder (not a USC0 and he is living outside US i.e. he won't become a USC in near future. Go ahead with H1.
