getting H1B on B1 extension.

hi
finally i got the job for which i was here in the US. but my B1 visa expires on may 31, 2006. i am afraid that the sponsor will not be able to file my H1 papers in time. so can i file for B1 extension with some other reasons and laters file H1 through sponsor? i ve heard USIC is not changing the status of extended visa!! is that true? do help me. I ll appriaciate early response.

just make sure you don't get 'out of status', if your visa/I94 is running out and you are not likely to get an extension before expiry, your best bet may be to leave the country and return after the approval of the H1b filed by your sponsor. In any case you would still have needed to leave the country for an H1b stamp in your passport.

want to ask u somethg..my sis is visiting on b1 ..can u guide me how can she be converted to h1 if i find a sponsor for her...the h1 quota for the year is over...so can the employer file for her h1?/?can u guide me pls
