Getting H1B in Canada

Hi,
I got my H1B in the USA 6 month ago. Now I want to go to my country, but one person advised me to go to Canada to US Embassy to get visa in passport before leaving for my country.
Did anybody have experience getting H1 B visa in Canada.
I'll really appreciate any advice.

Is this f1 to h1?

Any US degree holder should not find any problem getting a h1 stamp in canada. Next time mention your country of origin and what visa you are transferring from.

I am originally from Ukraine and I received my BS there.
I was on M1(student visa-vacational school) for one year. Then I changed it to H1B- it was approwed 6 month ago.
How about getting visa stamp in Mexico. Any ideas?

But your vocational diploma seems promising. Generally people have not expressed complaints about mexico.
