Getting H1B for the first time

Hi....

I finished my MS in the US last Dec 2004 and have been on OPT (Optional Practical Training) from Jan 2005.

I've found an employer who is willing to sponsor but only will after three months, say in the month of Aug 2005. And having the cap in mind; if i don't get approved this year, what should I do next (because my OPT will expire on Jan 2006 and can't work and will be out of status after that).

What should I do to maintain my status and work continuously????

Tell them to sponser now and work from Oct 1, 2005 otherwise look for another employer. Nothing workout get another I 20 until you get an H1.
