Getting H-1/H-4 filing fee back due to I-485 approval

Hi all, our I-485 got approved and card in mail. I already filed for H-1 and H-4extension at CSC which are not processed yet by USCIS.

Is there ayway to request USCIS to give the filing fee back?

Nope

Same happened to me. But,it was EAD and AP applications that were pending.

Based on the Cust rep,i placed a hold on the cheque,since they were not cashed yet.

But,got a collection agency notice to pay,since it is the Filing Fee and not application/processing fee.

So,all you can do is just feel happy for the GC and forget about the Filing fee.

I know,it sucks !!

yes, Cus rep also said that I will not get the money back. Anyway, i sent a letter to them to abandon the case and refund my money.

What the USCIS gets, the USCIS keeps, unfortunately.
If you're the dogged kind of person, you can write them letters, write to the ombudsman, to the senators etc and try to get your money back.
