Yes, it is a challenge. Especially now. There are some available now. (Aug 15)

Checking the website late at night worked.
I managed to get an appointment in October.
Now to get all the paperwork filled in.
Now do I need a visa to enter Canada from the US with my British Passport? Or just all the Consular forms?
Maybe I'll bug the lawyer at work, since she doesn't have much to do while we wait on PBEC getting their act together.

With a British Passport you wont need a visitors visa. You can get one at point of entry into Canada.

Canadian Appointment & Extension
We are in our 7th year H1 B extension. My husband rcvd his 7th year extension valid upto Sept 3rd 2007, which usually the company would do and mine is done thro' efiling once we rcv his extension. Right now my stay is valid upto Sept 3rd 2006.
I have to leave for India due to urgent personnel matter and getting an appointment in India anytime before Feb is ruled out. So my only option is to go to Canada. We are trying to get an appointment through a lawyer. It has been a week since we have given all the documents but so far he has not given any appointment dates. When consulted with the lawyer he said I need not apply for the extension (Form 539) as I would be leaving the country before the expiration date to get my Visa stamped and the US consulate would give the stamping based on my husbands Visa date.
Please help me with the following questions:
1. Would I require an extension valip upto Sept 3rd 07, if I am getting an appointment at US Consulate in Canada before Sept 3rd, 06?
2. Is it true that the lawyers can get early appointment dates based on emergency cases?
