Please help,
I'm getting divorced soon and I'm still waiting on my I-751 to be approved.
I applied on July 2008 and it was sent to Vermont than it was transferred to California this month, where they say that the processing time is 6 months.
I might get it in a couple of months, but at this point with all that has happened emotionally, I'm very lost and scared.
I wanted to know please, what should I do? My husband will be filing for divorce next week and I have no idea how long that takes to be final.
My case status says that it's pending. Does that mean they are looking at it already?
I am lost, because I never thought that we were getting divorced and I never worried about my immigration status.
I will appreciate any help! Thank you very much!

I have been through this

I have been exactly similar situation, execept that I was the moving party. But I did not file a waiver I-751 until my natuarluzation interveiw and it did finally got approved, but after natuarlaziation interveiw. Any ways, you must file I-751 waiver as soon you get final divorce copy. you can not file good faith waiver before divorce. if your pending gets approved one day befoer final day of divorce, you are perfectly fine. Try to delay the process by not showing up at divorce hearing or sending a notice in adavnce through your lawyer for adjournment. This will be better. If you have to have to appear, raise points to delay about property etec etc. If you can do it for 8 months, you shall be OK. other wise file a waiver wqith new fee afetr divorce. Withdraw the old one. DO EXACTLY WHAT I TOLD YOU. Do not listne to people giving contradictory advice:mad:

and refer to this thread for all the documents you might be needing. So start collecting them NOW.... you might not have access to them, in case you get into an ugly divorce proceeding.

If your case has been moved to CSC....thats good news...CSC processing time is 2 to 4 months....
Once again...May GOD give you enough strength to go thru these tough times...

I went to a lawer yesterday and I feel so much better, more confident.
Things are still tense at home, but I decided to ride it out and not get a divorce for now. I went through a lot in this marriage, a lot of mental abuse (and still does), so even though is a lie, now, to stay in it, I think I deserve to at least have my permanent card in my hands first. Then, unfortunately, it will be over.
Thanks again, everyone and I'll post as soon as I get the results.

I just got a letter from the imigration, saying that my permanent card is coming!!
I AM SO HAPPY!!!
I hope all of you guys can get yours soon to!!
