German Visa on a NP??

Hi Guys,
Last thursday I was at the USCIS local to inquiry about me renewing my passport. I met an old officier who told that if my country feels that I am eligible to obtain I should/can apply. He say that I should apply for my NP and it won't be any problem. It is also what my lawyer believes.

Your I-485 was approved in 2006.How can you be eligible for citizenship in 2008?Are you married to a USC since 2005?

I am an aslyee. My Lawyer believes that I will be eligible for citizenship in 2008. I don't know anything about naturalization.

You're lawyer is 100% wrong.You will be eliguble for citizenship in 2010.
