I do not know about transit visa but if I were you I will leave US before August 20th to avoid out of status issue at CP interview for few days.

Thanks for reply. Well usually EB interviews are scheduled from 15th to end of the month. If I get CP interview on or before Aug 31st, Yes
I am planning to leave before Aug 20th. Otherwise, I have to apply for 7th year H1B extension.
 
Question

Guys, is a Transit visa required for Germany if the US visa on the Passport is valid, but I-94 has expired?

It might entirely depend on the airline agent ;-)

You may be able to get away with it since they check if you have valid visa. Not sure if they would insist on having valid I-94.

You may want to send an email to the German consulate to clarify this.
 
Canadian PR Donot need transit Visa

I think Indian nationals who are PRs of Canada also do not need a transit visa.
