General H1 transfer and restamping questions

Hi,

I am planning to change my employer in next few weeks and visit India in couple of months. Presently I am on H1 (stamped) with my current employer.

When I change my employer, do I need to wait till the new approval before I can travel out of country?

Do I need to get H1 stamped again when I go to India?

Do I need the original approval notice for both my H1’s during the visit?

My new H-1 will be for another 3 years or the remainder of my current H-1?

If my passport is expiring in 2 years and I have to get H-1 stamped for another 3 years, do I need to get a new passport?

Is it advisable to go to Canada for the stamping? My 1st stamping was from Canada (F1-OPT-H1).

I will greatly appreciate your help and time.

Regards,
Abhi.

it would be better but not necessary provided your old employer does not revoke your previous h1.

your current h1 approval notice is most important but its better to have copy or original of all documents as now a days consulate ask too many silly things.

its general practice for consulate to issue based on passport expiry date but there are many cases who have been issue with visa end date based on h1 approval notice.
