Hi All
I a GC holder soon tobe a Citizen. I have allready filed I-130 for my husband who is on H1 rightnow. After being a Citizen, I want to file I-485 for my husband.
1) Do I file I-130 again with I-485?
2) How they will know that I am proceeding as a Citizen and not as PR?
3) I am going to file at Memphis, TN, Do my husband has to file I-693 with I-485 or later on?
Thanks a lot

No, you don't need to.

you will provide them with a copy of your Certificate of Naturalization.

Dear Amishah,
First of all, congratulations for your upcoming Naturalization. I heard that naturalization ceremonies in Memphis are held at Bellevue Church up in I-40 and Germantown Road. They take place more or less every 60 days depending on the number of applicants. Approximately 40 "new US Citizens" are sworn in. If you take pictures and send it to the Commercial Appeal, you will be in the newspaper!

Second, the minute you get the naturalization certificate, go to the US CIS office and ask for an I-130 "upgrade". Go with the copy of the original I-130 and original I-485. I know somebody who went and had to pay the re-filing fee for the new I-130. But to me it is unclear why you should pay again.

Good luck, my friend!

Highlander.
