GC thru Marraige

My friend came to US in 2003 on visitor visa but stayed longer than the time granted. I never travelled outside USA. I'm getting married soon with a US citizen. What are the chances of getting GC through this procedure. Could there be any complications? Please help.

Once you get married to a USC, your overstay would be forgiven provided you apply for AOS. The procedure is pretty simple. check this link.

Since you overstayed, dont not file for AP or leave the US till you get your green card as you will trigger the 3/10 year bar. look here http://uscis.gov/graphics/services/Emergency/index.htm

Noswaj,

I am a bit confused here. What is the relationship between you and your friend in this situation?

Thank you for the response.

He is my friend, thats it. We work at a same place. What a question

Thanks

your question was unclear as you started off with telling about your freind and suddenly jumped over telling about yourself. A correct and clear question gets a correct answer. Nothing wrong in asking for clarification. We are all here to help each other.

Take it easy
