I got my GC one year back and starting next january, I will be studying overseas in MBA program for one year. Could someone let me know what are the implications with respect to maintaining status / need of residence permit etc.

I can travel back every six months if needed to maintain my GC status.

if it is just for 1 yr,make sure u visit u.s once in less than 6 months spend a couple of weeks.
This is solely if your intended stay abroad is for a year.
anyways talk to a lawyer,try to have ron respond to your query in his forum.
