GC sponsorship by US citizen

Hi Everyone,

I am a GC holder married to a US citizen. Is my spouse allowed to sponsor my parents (her in-laws) for a family based GC? Are in-law parents considered in the same category as parents for a family based GC?

the answer is NO

In short answer is NO. there are not considered same category. Also remember, she married you, not your parents or your entire family. If you want your parents sponsored, u will have to wait till u get your own GC or u become us citizen.
 
thanks smart_guy. I suspected this was the answer. I do have a GC myself...do you know how long it takes to sponsor parents for a GC.
