Hi,

I came to the states on a f2 visa. I got divorced and then I married a USC. We were married for 8 months and did not apply for my GC. WE wanted to see if our marriage would work and it did not. we got divorced. About 3 or 4 months after my divorce with the first USC I got married with another USC. Our marriage is a lot better and are thinking of applying for my GC but we are afraid that my previous marriage to a USC would be a big problem. Both marriages are bona fide. I have a lease showing I lived together with my ex wife, we had a car together. But as I came on f2 I did not get a SSN so there was not too much I could get in my name.

My second marriage is the same. We only have the lease together. I want to apply for my GC so I can work and have a SSN to do what other normal married people do: buy stuff together.

Will my first marriage to a USC get in the way of me getting a GC?

Thanks for your help.

Hi:

I am sorry, but you seem to have a vicious cat in your pants.... You have an extraordinarily high burden of proof to convince the mighty USCIS that you are not a greencard sucker....

One thing might be your winning card, you never filed for a greencard before, but you have had three marriage in less than 4 years I suppose. USCIS could recommend marriage counseling for life in your case  because it seems as if you are unfazed by divorce or separation. Getting married to someone 4 months after your divorce raise suspicion for me. Where you "playing" with this person while married? Hence, you 2nd marriage never worked out?

AOS approval is based on a number of issues: relationship is a legitimate one, not for evasion of immigration laws of the US  In your case, suspicion is going to mount on the basis of divorce decrees which you have to furnish to USCIS. As I said, a vicious cat is going to scratch and bite your you-know-what nuts....

I was married to my first wife for 4 years. My second marriage ended because she got pregnant with another one. The third marriage is giving me hopes. What can I say? I have had a full life so far.
