GC Parents - First entry into the US

All,

I'm a USC who sponsored my parents for greencard. They'll be coming into the US for the first time using their immigrant visas. I just would like to let them know for sure the process they'll be facing at Newark Airport, so there won't be any surprises.

If I'm not mistaken, they will have their pictures and fingerprints taken at the airport and their passports stamped, which will allow them to go to Canada if they choose to. Then, we'll just have to wait for the actual cards to arrive in the mail---no interview at local INS office. Is that correct?

I'd greatly appreciate if anyone, preferably whose parents have had the experience, could share his/her knowledge.

Thanks in advance.

mine came on DV visas. Everything went just like you described: pics, fingerprints, and welcome to the US. There will be no interview with BCIS.
