GC Overstaying Abroad

My sister in law has GC and planning to go back to the home country for about 2 years. I know that GC holder can stay abroad for max about 6 monthes. Does she need to file some kind of form which will give her the permission for overstay.

Any response would be reatly appreciated.

She has to file for reentry permit form. Form I-131. Go on www.INS.gov
